Simple Saver www.thesimplesaver.com

*****

This site starts off as a story about real people. The Simple Saver started out as a series of emails from Fran and Christine to their friends. Whenever they found a bargain or a 'too good to miss' deal in a newspaper, magazine or on the net, they used to let their friends know about it. 'We aren't interested in 10p off nappy cream, we want two bottles of wine for the price of one; we are looking for 50 per cent off at John Lewis; we want free cinema tickets and half price meals,' says Fran. 'We appreciate cheaper kids clothes and free child places on holidays and want to be the first to try out new ideas.' When friends began emailing them offers to be included in their emails Christine and Fran realised that this was something useful. Fran and Christine set up the site. 'There are now hundreds of Simple Savers all over Britain who let us know when they spot a bargain.'
VERDICT: Can it really be that simple to save? They think so. This is a fantastic example of consumer power.
